On this, the second set of recordings in their Soundscapes series, Burning Dervish returns to the tools of manipulated and modified analog field recordings, digitally generated tones as well as a collection of synthesizers and signal processors to create a soundtrack to accompany mankind’s increasing interactions with nonhuman intelligences.

With the Soundscapes series, Burning Dervish continues in the 19th century Romantic tradition of program music, this time with pieces inspired by the 1990 book Confrontations: A Scientists Search for Alien Contact, by the astrophysicist, computer scientist and venture capitalist Jacques Vallee.
