about

this album began as a question. an actual question uttered. it was given a voice and a trajectory and lodged itself in my ear canal. there it found a transient existence and set about making mine uncomfortable. who was i to answer such a question? no amount of effort could eject it. it was a grief stricken plea for respite and hopelessly unmoored from any viable response. no single strategy could budge it, so i began tabulating any possible answers. those answers beget other answers. those answers altered the resonance of the question. this album and these tracks are an effort to log and trace that initial question. is this what love is? the first track is the basis for everything else heard on the album and bonus tracks. some answers bleed into others. some take an opposing approach. some change the tone of the question. all hope for an answer while knowing it likely may never arrive.

all sounds composed and manipulated by toledo the horse in late 2021 - early 2022
